Museum exhibition

The aim of “Development and Tourism in Madaba”, financed by FACE* is to improve the quality of exhibition in the Madaba Archaeological and Folklore Museum and through this, enlarge the understanding of Cultural Heritage as well as help the economic development in Madaba. The recent problems of the region have led to a breakdown of foreign tourism even in those countries, which are not affected directly by the crisis. Improving the local museums in cooperation with Jordanian archaeologists can on one hand help in the local awareness of Cultural Heritage and thus result in less destruction of ancient sites. On the other hand it will raise the level of interest in those foreign tourists still visiting, which in turn will help in the economic development and stabilization of the region.
